International Workshop on Bio-Soft Matter 2008

International Workshop on Bio-Soft Matter
Date:
9 - 10, June 2008
Place:
The University of Tokyo, Koshiba Hall (ăz[)

This worksho is a sattellite meeting of the International Symposium on Non-equilibrium Soft Matter and
supported by the project "Creation of Non-Equilibrium Soft Matter Physics -Structure and Dynamics of Mesoscopic Systems-" (2006-2010, Project Leader: Takao Ohta), a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on the Priority Area from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.

Scope
The purpose of the workshop it to discuss recent progress in the fields of theoretical and
experimental nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, including soft matter out of equilibrium,
nonequilibrium dynamics in biological cells, and dynamics of molecular motors. It is hoped
that the workshop will open and encourage international cooperation in the fields of
statistical mechanics and biophysics and stimulate workers in Asia and all over the world.
